Sushmita Sen was born on the 19th November 1975 and she is an Indian actress who was born in Hyderabad in India to a Bengali Family. Her father was an air force officer ad her mother is a fashion artist and jewelry designer.

She has got one brother Rajeev Sen and she did her schooling also from Hyderabad. Her career began in 1994 after winning the Miss Universe competition and also Miss India Title defeating Aishwarya Rai in the finals. Her first movie was in 1996 called Dastak which didnt do well at the box office and also did Zor in 1997.

Her success came in 1999 with movies like Sirf Tum which got her the attention of audiences and Biwi No.1 which also got her the best supporting actress award. In the year 2000 she did movies like Aaghaaz and Fiza which again were not successful at all.

 She also did some Tamil moves and it was not until 2001 movie Bas Itna Sa Khwaab Hai that she got some recognition for her acting.The year 2002 saw her in Aankhen which was an instant hit in the film industry and then she did a number of flop movies like Tumko Na Bhool Paayenge, Filhaal, in 2003 Samay, Pran Jaye Par Shaan Na Jaye. Vaastu Shastra also saw her acting but the movie was a box office failure.

It was not until Main Hoon Na in 2004 that she again caught the attention of the audiences and got nominated for the best supporting actress. Movies like Kisna, Bewafaa, Alag and Ram Gopal Varma ki Aag were all box office failure. Recently she did Do Not Disturb which got her attention and Dulha Mil Gaya which were moderately successful and she is need of a blockburster to reign again in Bollywood.
