Riya Sen was born on the 24th January 1981 and is a model by profession also. She comes from a family of actors and her grandmother was Suchitra Sen a famous Bengali Actress and her mother Moon Moon Sen is also a famous actress. Her sister Raime Sen is also an actress.

She began her acting career as a child actress doing a movie called Vishkanya 1991 where she had the role of a young Pooja Bedi. At 18 years old she did Tamil film Taj Mahal. She did her schooling from Loreto House in Rani Birla College in Kolkata.

 She also studied at the NIFT and took up jewellery designing as a hobby. Her first Bollywood adult movie was Style in 2001 which won her instant success and got her face recognized on screen. In 2002 Dil Vil Pyar Vyar also saw her in a cameo appearance.

2003 saw her in movies like Qayamat City under Threat. Her success came with Jankaar Beats in 2003.2004 saw her in movies like Dil Ne Jise Apna Kahaa and I plan for an item number.

She also did a number of Tamil and Malayalam movies during her acting career and one cannot forget Ananthabhadram in 2005 which got her into limelight in south. Shaadi no.1, Silsiilay saw her on tabloid screen that year. 2006 saw her in movies like Ana Sapna Money Money.

The Bachelor, Rokda, Love You Hamesha. 2007 saw her in movies like Heyy Baby which was a success. 2008 saw her in movies like Heroes and Love Khichdi.

The year 2009 also saw her in movies like Paying guests which was moderately successful at the box office. Her smart features and her beauty will always keep her amongst the top actress in Bollywood and of other regional film industries.
