Priyanka Chopra was born on the 18th July 1982 in Jamshedpur in Jharkhand to doctor parents. She spent some of her time in Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh and simultaneously in the United States also. She won her Miss World title in 2000 and it immediately shot her to fame.

She began her acting career with a Tamil film in 2002 called Thamizahan. She debuted in Bollywood in 2003 with her movie The Hero: Love Story of a Spy. Her first hit movie was Andaaz which was directed by Raj Kanwar for which she won Filmfare Best Debut Award.

The very next year she also became the second woman to win the Filmfare Best Villain Award for her movie Aitrazz which had Akshay Kumar in it. In the year 2004 she also delivered a number of flop movies like Plan, Kismat and Asambhav. The year 2005 also saw a lot of flop movies from her like Yakeen, Karam, Bluffmaster.

The year 2006 brought her success with movies like Krrish and Don which were the two most successful films of that year. In 2008 also she acted in many flop movies but it was not until her fifth release of the year in Madhur Bahndarkars Fashion that she shot back to name and fame in the film world.

She also won the Filmfare Best Actress award for her role in the movie Fashion and it can be called the peak time of her career. Later in 2009 she also appeared in the Vishal Bharadwajs Kaminey for which she got critical acclaim.

She also played the role of 12 characters in a movie called whats your Raashee? and is considered for world record. People are waiting for her upcoming movies like Anjaana Anjaani and Vishal Bharadwajs Saat Khoon Maaf where she plays the role of a woman with seven husbands.
