Synopsis: Shagird is 2011 Bollywood film that is based on action and will be released under the banner of Reliance Big Picture. The releasing date of the film is yet to be decided.

Produced by Asif Saikh and co-produced by Purvi Livangia, it tells the story of crime in Delhi and starring Nana Patekar, Anurag Kashyap, Mohit Ahlawat, Irrfan Khan, Rimi Sen and Valabh Vyas. Written and directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia, Shagird was shot at various locations in Delhi and tries to explore crime in the city.

The story of the film focuses on lead character Hanumant Singh (Nana Patekar), who is known for his different kind of approach to catch the criminals. He poses a strong personality and does not like the interference in his duty.

Though his ethics and tactics are little unique and questionable, still he earned well recognition for his work. On the other hand it introduces a new character Mohit (Mohit Ahlawat), a junior officer, famously known for his own principle and works according to that.
Bunty Bhaiya (Anurag Kashyap), woreks with Hemant Singh for Rajmani Singh (Zakir Hussain), renowned politician, engaged to rule the state with utmost unfair means.                                       

As the story of the film moves ahead, corruption link between the politician and police becomes clearer. On the other hand the film introduces another female character (Rimi Sen) and hence introduces some major twists.

The girl gets kidnapped by some unidentified terrorists and in return they demand releasing of their two men and that indulged everyone into lots of struggles and ready to murder for money.

Shagird is a movie that comes with realistic touch and can be described as combination of law, crime and politics. As far as music concern, it contains outstanding music that is composed by Abhishek Ray. It got some wonderful soundtracks as well.
