Lisa Ray was born on the 4th April 1972 and she is a Canadian actress and former fashion model. She was born in Toronto to an Indian father and a polish mother and she spent a good lot of time in suburb of Etobicoke.

She was a very bright academic student and she was enrolled in three different high schools during her teenage days. Her father was big lover of movies. Rays modeling career began when she was spotted by an agent in a crowd on a family vacation to India.

She was only sixteen when she began modeling. She came to nortice of people after ad in a Bombay Dyeing commercial wearing a high cut black swimsuit. She returned to India after a break to appear on the cover of Gladrags.

She made her debut in Tamil movies in 1994 called Nethaji and also in Hanste Khelte. She returned to Hindi movies only after six years in 2001 movie called Kasoor and she became an instant hot figure of Bollywood.


Lisa Ray definitely turned out to be one of the best in terms of beauty and hot looks combination. She also did movies in south India called Takkari Donga in Telugu. Her next popular movie came only in 2002 called the Bollywood / Hollywood and the movie was taken seriously by the audiences in India.

2004 saw her in movies like Ball & Chain. Yuvaraja a Kannad film also saw her in a nice role.Global recognition certainly came to her with Water in 2005 which was a Deepa Mehta movie.
