The beautiful Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut popularly noted for her curls with child-woman face and a thin frame was born on 20th of March 1984 in Mandi District of Himachal Pradesh, India.

She was brought up in Shimla as well as Chandigarh by her businessman father Amardeep and a schoolteacher mother, Asha. She did her schooling from the DAV Model School in Chandigarh and finished her college from the Science College in Shimla with a dream of becoming a doctor that did not work.

She then attended the Elite Modelling Agency in New Delhi but failed in her modeling career too. In 2003, she joined the Asmita Theater Group where she worked in several plays. She then joined the Asha Chandra’s Acting School to sharpen her acting skills.

She got her training in Kathak dance and learned singing from Amitabh Chakraborty.Signed up for Gangster was a sudden incident in her life. In 2005, when she was in a café, the director Anurag Basu noticed her and she agreed to act in Gangster.

With the release of Gangster in 2006 Kangana Ranaut came to the spotlight. She was honored with Filmfare Best Actress Award in 2006 for Gangstar. She even reveived much applause for her lead role in Woh Lamhe by Mohit Suri where she was played the lead character of Sana, that is based the love life of the glamorous actress of 80s Ms.Parveen Babi. In 2007, Kangana again came to the limelight when Life in a Metro by Anurag Basu hit the Box office.

Her performance was applauded in her first ever Tamil movie, Dhaam Dhoom in 2008 which was a hit. Raaz – The Mystery Continues was released in 2009 directed by Mohit Suri and Kanganas role achieved positive reviews.In 2010, she appeared in Kites with  Hrithik Roshan and Bobby Deol.

She also appeared in a role of Madhubala/Sona in Once Upon a Time in Mumbai Presently she is busy with an Italian film Between the Night and the Moon by Gilda Pianelli. She will also be seen for the first time in a comic role in the upcoming comedies namely, No Problem and Tanu Weds Man.
