The I am a Complan Girl! Ayesha Takia was born to a mixed blood of Gujarati father, Nishit and British Maharashtrian mother, Faridah in Mumbai. After finishing her schooling from St. Anthonys High School, she entered the Bollywood to start her career as an actress.

From childhood she was doing ad campaign with Complan brand. At the age of fifteen she appeared in Falguni Pathaks music video, Meri Chunarii Udd Udd Jaye,. The following year she reappeared in another music video, Shake It Daddy and she grabbed the attention of the Bollywood film industry.

Subsequently started her career with Socha Na Tha and Taarzan. In 2004 her debut film was Taarzan which won her the the Filmfare Best Debut Award and IIFA Star Debut for her eccentric performance.

But something better was awaiting her way. With the release of Dor in 2007, she earned a lot of praise. She bagged home a number of awards that include the Star Screen Award Best Actress (Critics).

The Stardust Best Supporting Actress Award, the Bengal Film Journalists Association Awards, Best Actress and the Zee Cine Critics Award Best Actress, which she shared with Gul Panag for Dor.Lately she appeared in Wanted with Salman Khan which emerged to be a biggest blockbuster of box office in 2009.
