Abhishek Bachchan, tha son of the leading Indian actors of the generation Amitabh Bachchan, was born on 5th February 1976 in Mumbai, Maharashtra.

As a child, Junior Bachchan was dyslexic. He attended a number of schools including Jamnabai Narsee School and Bombay Scottish School when he was in Mumbai. Then he joined Modern School and Vasant Vihar in New Delhi.

He also got admission to Aiglon College in Switzerland. To complete his education, he got to Boston University in U.S. but left his studies midway for pursuing his acting career during the time when his father was facing difficult time in ABCL.

In 2000, Abhishek Bachchan entered the film industry with his debuted film, Refugee by J.P. Duttas. Films like Kuch Na Kaho and Bas Itna Sa Khwaab Hai could not earn him much success. In 2003, his performance was appreciated in Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon.

He played one of the leading roles in Dhoom as well as Yuva in 2004. Yuva by Mani Ratnam won several awards and Bacchan was honoured with his first Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor.

The following year 2005, Bachchan was blast to immense recognition with four consecutive hit films namely Bunty Aur Babli, Sarkar, Dus, and Bluffmaster. The film Sarkar won him his second Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor. In 2006, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, where he was in the lead role became one of highest grossing films of that year.

In 2007, Bachchans Guru directed by Mani Ratnam, became his first ever solo hit. In 2010, Abhishek Bachchan was involved in producing the Hindi film Paa from AB Corp. Ltd, his family company where he won his first National Film Award as a producer. The film also won the Best Feature Film in Hindi Award.

His latest release of 2010 is Raavan, where he is in the leading role opposite to his wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
